About Us

This little girl used to rummage in her mother’s valuables looking for jewels, and would then start dancing in front of the mirror full of necklaces, earrings, and more, shining like a Christmas tree. 

It didn’t matter to her whether she was wearing gold, plastic, or just her imagination. She also loved to create: painting, drawing, creating small bracelets for her mom and aunts.

That little girl was me, but it was not until decades later that I really started listening to her and doing what she always knew she wanted to do. After a few years struggling in studies and jobs I did not enjoy, I started focusing on turning that little girl’s dream into reality.

I also started paying close attention to what was happening in the world, and how I could play a role in preserving the environment and encourage others to do the same.

I started Real Joy store with three ideas in my head:

1. Simplicity is rare
2. Value comes from meaning, not cost of materials
3. We should “wear” change, not only talk about it

That’s why all Real Joy collections only use recycled materials such as plastic bags.

My designs take inspiration from the nature, turning materials into unique pieces of jewelry.
